"Invictus" is a very good story very well told. Shortly after Nelson Mandela emerged from 27 years in prison and became president of South Africa in 1994, he seized upon using a rugby World Cup the following year as an opportunity to rally the entire nation -- blacks and whites -- behind the far-fetched prospect of the home team winning it all. Inspirational on the face of it, Clint Eastwood's film has a predictable trajectory, but every scene brims with surprising details that accumulate into a rich fabric of history, cultural impressions and emotion. The names of Eastwood and stars Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon should propel this absorbing Warner Bros. release to solid returns Stateside, with even better prospects looming in many foreign markets, where an unfamiliar sport and South African politics may pose less of a potential B.O. hurdle.

Taking a Quick Line-out can catch your opponent with his defences weakened and provide the perfect opportunity to launch a counter attack.
When your opponent kicks the ball into touch and you have a player who is able to reach the space where the ball went out, then you can perform a Quick Line-out! Simply tell your opponent that you are attempting a Quick Line-out and...
- move a player within reach on to the space where the ball went out.
- Place the ball on top of him.
- Roll both dice.
- If the number rolled is equal to or less then that players Ball Skill then the Quick line-Out is successful. Now place the ball on any other team mate who is within 5 spaces AND in-line with or behind the throwing player (i.e. not a forward pass)
- If the number rolled is more then the players Ball Skill then the player hesitates and decides against the Quick Line-out - The normal line-out occurs.
Throwing to himself: A player can choose to throw the ball to himself instead of a team mate as long as he has enough Movement to get to the Ball, make the dice roll and then still move onto or over the 5m line (dotted line)
Kicked from with in the 22m: A Quick Line-out can not be taken if your opponent kicks the ball out from with-in their 22m area. The ball is considered to be thumped into the crowd and therefor does not allow for a quick response. |

General Tactics
|
Break the game down in chunks with achievable targets e.g. no points/goals against for the next ten minutes / 5 turns, even when at half time you are well ahead. Tip supplied by Better Rugby Coaching. |

Attacking Tactics
|
|
Used tactically, your forwards can be a huge advantage in your backline attack. Try to get one or two forwards involved in a backline attack. Use them to support you backline runners as their ability to ruck means they can protect the ball from the opposition if you fail a gather. |
